There is still time, therefore watch out for traitors: Advice from Tej Pratap Yadav to his brother Tejashwi

Former Bihar minister Tej Pratap Yadav has declared his intention to reach out to the people of the state by holding public interactions through his organisation as well as by using social media platforms. At the same time, he issued a strong warning to his younger brother, Tejashwi Yadav, who is currently a key leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). Ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, Tej Pratap advised Tejashwi to remain vigilant against “traitors” operating within the party, cautioning him that ignoring such internal threats could prove disastrous for both his leadership and the party’s performance in the polls.

Tej Pratap, who was recently expelled from the RJD by his father and party supremo Lalu Prasad, expressed his concerns in a post on X (formerly Twitter). In his statement, he alleged that a section of individuals within political circles were conspiring against him with the sole aim of ending his political career. While addressing Tejashwi directly, he emphasized that there was still time for him to recognise and guard against “Jaichands”—a term used metaphorically to describe traitors. According to him, Tejashwi’s wisdom and ability to handle such situations would be reflected in the election results themselves.

To reinforce his claims, Tej Pratap shared a video on social media, which allegedly shows the driver of Vijay Kumar Singh alias Dabloo Singh, an RJD MLA from Nabinagar, being assaulted during the Congress’s ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Aurangabad. The video also allegedly captures a media person facing mistreatment. However, the authenticity of the footage has not yet been independently confirmed by the Press Trust of India (PTI). Condemning the incident, Tej Pratap questioned whether Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav were truly leading the yatra to safeguard democracy or, instead, undermining it by allowing such violent acts to occur. He described the attack on the driver and the media representative as deeply shameful and unacceptable.

In a separate post, Tej Pratap reiterated his claim that certain political figures were actively plotting against him. He declared that despite these attempts, he remained determined to continue his journey with greater resilience and strength. In his words, no matter how large or dangerous the conspiracy might be, his political opponents would never be able to defeat him or diminish his influence. This defiance reflected his confidence in navigating the turbulent political atmosphere while countering his detractors.

Adding to the day’s developments, Tej Pratap formally announced the creation of a new coalition that will contest the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar. At a press conference in Patna, he revealed that five smaller parties had agreed to come together under this alliance. The coalition includes the Vikas Vanchit Insaan Party (VVIP), Bhojpuriya Jan Morcha (BJM), Pragatisheel Janta Party (PJP), Wajib Adhikar Party (WAP), and the Sanyukt Kisan Vikas Party (SKVP). Leaders of these respective parties, including their national presidents, were present at the announcement, signaling their collective resolve to challenge bigger political players in the electoral field.

Tej Pratap concluded by reiterating his strategy of directly engaging with the masses, both through grassroots dialogues and social media initiatives. With confidence and defiance in his tone, he threw an open challenge to his rivals, declaring that anyone who doubted his strength or questioned his relevance should confront him in the electoral battle. According to him, the upcoming elections will serve as the ultimate test of strength, where his resilience, alliances, and connection with the people will be put to the forefront.
