CCTV shows that the gunmen searched the Disha Patani residence numerous times before opening fire

The firing incident that took place on September 12 at actor Disha Patani’s residence in Bareilly has been traced back to five shooters allegedly linked to the notorious Goldy Brar gang. Out of the five, two—identified as Ravindra alias Kallu and Arun from Haryana—were gunned down on Wednesday during a police encounter near Ghaziabad’s Tronica City. Two others, Nakul and Vijay, are still on the run, while the fifth member of the group reportedly backed out at the last moment due to illness.

According to the ongoing police investigation, Nakul and Vijay had been actively involved in conducting multiple recces of the actor’s house between September 6 and September 12, with the final one taking place just a day before the attack. CCTV footage retrieved from a petrol pump in Bareilly on September 9 shows the two men, both originally from Baghpat, confirming their presence in the city ahead of the shooting. Authorities revealed that the duo had visited Bareilly at least four times in the days leading up to the firing, meticulously planning the attack.

In a significant move to capture the fugitives, the Bareilly police have announced a cash reward of ₹1.5 lakh each for anyone providing actionable information on Nakul and Vijay. Investigators have already reviewed more than 2,000 CCTV clips in their efforts to piece together the attackers’ movements before and after the firing at the Patani household.

Details of the group’s activities have also come to light. On September 10, four shooters—Nakul, Vijay, Ravindra, and Arun—reached Bareilly in the evening and checked into two separate hotels, Hotel Preet and Hotel Hind. After carrying out the attack, they reportedly fled to Rampur. To execute their recce, the group used two motorcycles: Nakul and Vijay rode a black Splendour, while Ravindra and Arun used a white Apache, according to police sources. Notably, while Arun, Nakul, and Vijay conducted the reconnaissance on September 9, Ravindra chose not to join them.

The revelations underline that the shooters were not only part of the Rohit Godara–Goldy Brar gang but were also wanted in multiple other criminal cases, pointing to a broader nexus of organized crime behind the attack on the actor’s residence.
