Eno, a factory producing tainted toothpaste, was discovered in Delhi; hazardous materials were taken

Delhi Police have uncovered an illegal factory operating out of a residential house in Jagatpur, Delhi, where counterfeit and adulterated daily-use products were being manufactured. The raid revealed large quantities of fake goods and raw materials, ready for packaging and distribution, raising serious concerns about consumer safety.

During the operation, authorities seized significant counterfeit items, including fake Close-Up toothpaste and Eno sachets, both produced using harmful chemical substances. Investigators noted that the factory was organized into different sections, each dedicated to producing imitation products of popular brands. Residents expressed alarm at the discovery, highlighting the severe health risks posed by the spurious goods.

Officials warned that the fake toothpaste could damage teeth, while the counterfeit Eno could cause stomach burns instead of providing relief. The adulterated products were reportedly being distributed to various markets across Delhi, deceiving unsuspecting consumers into purchasing them as genuine items.

Authorities also recovered raw materials, packaging supplies, and production equipment, indicating a well-established setup. The scale of the operation suggests a broader network involved in manufacturing and distributing counterfeit consumer products.

This bust is part of a larger crackdown on illegal production units in Delhi, emphasizing the need for continuous market inspections and stricter regulatory enforcement. Police are tracing the individuals responsible and investigating the supply chain to prevent further public health risks.
