Al-Falah ward kid, who assisted bomber Dr. Umar, is the seventh person arrested in the Delhi blast case

The National Investigation Agency has arrested a Faridabad resident for allegedly sheltering Dr Umar Un Nabi, the man who drove the explosive-laden car that detonated outside Delhi’s Red Fort on November 10. The attack killed 14 people and left several others injured, marking one of the most severe terror strikes in the capital in recent years.

Investigators said the accused, identified as Soyab from Dhauj in Faridabad, provided refuge to Dr Umar at his sister-in-law’s house shortly before the bombing and later helped him relocate to additional hideouts. According to the agency, he also played a role in offering logistical assistance that enabled Dr Umar to move freely in the days leading up to the attack.

Dr Umar is believed to be part of a sophisticated “white-collar” terror module linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed and initially exposed by the Jammu and Kashmir Police. Several individuals connected to Al-Falah University in Faridabad — including Shaheen Saeed, Muzammil Shakeel and Adeel Rather — are already under arrest in the same case. The NIA statement adds that Soyab worked as a ward boy at the university and regularly coordinated patient visits to Dr Umar and Mujammil, putting him in continuous contact with the terror operatives.

With this arrest, Soyab becomes the seventh person taken into custody in the Red Fort blast probe. Authorities say searches remain underway across multiple states to identify additional conspirators and dismantle the wider network behind the attack. The bombing came just hours after eight suspects, including three doctors linked to Al-Falah University, had already been arrested and 2,900 kilograms of explosives seized — a discovery that underscored the depth and reach of the white-collar terror network operating across Kashmir, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

The agency has said the investigation is ongoing, with more arrests expected as evidence continues to emerge.
