In a Rs 252-crore narcotics case, Mumbai police question Shraddha Kapoor's brother for five hours

The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Mumbai Police has widened its investigation in the ₹252-crore drug case, summoning multiple high-profile individuals as new names continue to emerge during interrogation. On Tuesday, actor Siddhanth Kapoor — brother of Shraddha Kapoor — appeared before the ANC’s Ghatkopar unit and was questioned for nearly five hours. His questioning came after his name surfaced in connection with drug-fuelled parties allegedly organised by members of a Dubai-based syndicate linked to underworld operative Dawood Ibrahim.

Tomorrow, the same ANC unit is scheduled to question popular social media influencer Orhan "Orry" Awatramani, whose name appears in interrogation records accessed exclusively by India Today. Although investigators have yet to clarify his precise role, Orry’s name was specifically mentioned by accused Taher Dola, son of Dawood aide Salim Dola, who was recently extradited from the UAE.

According to the remand copy, Taher told investigators that his father orchestrated high-profile drug parties across India and abroad, attended by Bollywood actors, influencers, models, rappers, filmmakers and individuals connected to the D-Company network. The documents list multiple names, including Alisha Parkar, Nora Fatehi, Shraddha Kapoor, Siddhanth Kapoor, Zishan Siddiqui, Orhan (Orry), Abbas-Mastaan, singer-rapper Loka and others, alleging that these gatherings involved both consumption and supply of narcotics.

The ANC and Enforcement Directorate are now examining the broader network. Officials allege that Salim Dola supplied mephedrone (M-Cat/Meow Meow/Ice) across seven to eight Indian states and facilitated large-scale trafficking from overseas. Investigators say more celebrities, rappers and filmmakers may be summoned in the coming days as the probe expands.

Meanwhile, Orry is already under scrutiny in another case. The Jammu & Kashmir Police recently filed an FIR against him after a video surfaced showing him allegedly consuming alcohol at a hotel near the Vaishno Devi shrine.

With questioning continuing, the ANC is expected to confront Orry with statements from other accused individuals when he appears before the Ghatkopar unit tomorrow.
