After numerous altercations with neighbors while intoxicated, a UP woman binds her husband to the cot

An unusual domestic incident from Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh came to public attention after a video surfaced on social media showing a man tied to a cot inside his home. According to preliminary information, a woman allegedly restrained her husband in this manner after repeated disputes arising from his habitual alcohol consumption and frequent altercations with neighbours in their locality.

The viral video depicts a man with both his hands and legs bound to a cot, apparently unable to move. After the footage began circulating widely online, local police took note of the incident and initiated an inquiry. During verification, the man was identified as Pradeep, a resident of Hamidpur village under the jurisdiction of the Tappal police station.

As part of the investigation, police learned that Pradeep and his wife often had arguments related to domestic issues. According to the police version, the woman stated that her husband regularly consumed alcohol and repeatedly picked fights with people in the neighbourhood, creating tension and embarrassment for the family. She reportedly claimed that tying him to the cot was an attempt to prevent further disturbances and conflicts.

However, the incident also triggered a counter-complaint from within the family. Pradeep’s mother, Suman, approached the local police station and accused her daughter-in-law of harassment. In her complaint, she alleged that her son had been tied up against his will and subjected to mistreatment. She further claimed that her daughter-in-law was in possession of an illegal weapon and even accused her of making Pradeep disappear for a period of time. Suman stated that the couple had been married for the past four years and alleged that her daughter-in-law had repeatedly caused trouble for the family through such actions.

Confirming the incident, Varun Kumar Singh said that a video from the Tappal police station area showing a man tied to a cot had indeed gone viral on social media. He stated that upon verification, the police confirmed the identity of the man as Pradeep of Hamidpur village and found that there had been frequent quarrels between him and his wife over domestic matters.

The DSP added that during questioning, the woman informed the police that her husband often got drunk and engaged in fights with people in the neighbourhood, which led her to take the extreme step of restraining him. He said that the Tappal police have summoned Pradeep’s wife to the police station for further questioning and that appropriate legal action will be taken after examining all available evidence and statements from both sides.
