Serious marital discord has come into the public spotlight involving Prateek Yadav, the son of former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav and the younger brother of Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav, and his wife Aparna Yadav, after a controversial social media post attributed to Prateek announced his intention to seek a divorce.
According to the post shared from Prateek Yadav’s Instagram account, @iamprateekyadav, he stated that he no longer wished to continue the marriage and wanted the divorce process to be completed at the earliest. The post contained strong allegations against Aparna Yadav, accusing her of damaging family relationships and placing personal ambition, fame and influence above marital and family responsibilities.
In the message, Prateek claimed that his wife had created rifts within his family and showed no concern for his emotional and mental well-being. He expressed deep personal distress, stating that he was going through a difficult phase mentally and felt unsupported. The post also conveyed regret over the marriage, with Prateek alleging that Aparna Yadav was indifferent to his condition and focused solely on her own interests.

Her camp told Aaj Tak that Prateek Yadav’s Instagram account had been hacked and that the post did not reflect his actual views. They further stated that Prateek was currently unable to edit or delete the content from the account and that an official clarification would be issued shortly to explain their position and address the situation.
The incident has sparked speculation and public discussion, given the high-profile political background of the individuals involved, while both sides have yet to make any formal legal announcements regarding the status of their marriage.
