A teenager in Maharashtra’s Akola district allegedly attempted suicide after being deeply distressed over a romantic relationship, while broadcasting the act live on Instagram. The livestream included an emotional farewell message addressed to a woman, which rapidly spread online and alerted authorities to the unfolding emergency.
The incident occurred on January 21, when Dahihanda Police received urgent alerts from the Akola Control Room and the Mumbai Cyber Cell about a video showing a young man consuming poison. After reviewing the footage, police identified the individual as Krishna Raghu Palvi, an 18-year-old resident of Burhanpur district in Madhya Pradesh.
Following the alert, a police team was immediately constituted and a coordinated search operation was launched involving cyber officials and local social workers. Acting on digital and location clues, the team traced the teenager to Donwada village, where he was found unconscious inside a small hut located in a field, barely 20 minutes after the search began.
The teenager was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors provided prompt medical treatment. Officials said his condition is now stable and he continues to remain under medical care. His family later thanked the Mumbai Cyber Cell and local police authorities for their quick response, which they said played a crucial role in saving his life.
