A threatening email warning of a possible bomb attack was received by the Ahmedabad Rural Court on Monday morning, triggering immediate concern among authorities. The court complex, which is situated near the Income Tax office under the jurisdiction of the Navrangpura police station, became the focus of heightened security measures after the message was brought to official attention.
Police moved swiftly into action once the email came to light in the afternoon. Teams from the Navrangpura police station, accompanied by the bomb disposal squad and a dog squad, rushed to the premises to assess the situation. The entire area was thoroughly searched as part of precautionary protocols, while officers worked to ensure that no immediate threat was present within the court complex.
In parallel, the cyber crime unit was mobilised to trace the origin of the threatening email. Investigators are examining digital footprints, server details, and possible IP addresses to determine where the message originated and whether it was credible or a hoax. Security agencies are also verifying the authenticity of the email as part of the ongoing investigation.
As a safety measure, all judicial proceedings and administrative activities at the Ahmedabad Rural Court have been suspended until further notice. Authorities have prioritised the safety of court staff, lawyers, litigants, and the general public, and access to the premises has been restricted while checks continue.
The incident comes against the backdrop of similar threats in recent months. In December 2025, a spate of bomb threat emails sent to government offices across Karnataka had triggered high-security alerts in several districts. Those incidents led to evacuations and extensive search operations by security agencies, raising concerns about the misuse of anonymous digital communications to create panic and disrupt public institutions.
