The Delhi Crime Branch’s Anti-Gangster Squad, working in coordination with Rajasthan Police, has arrested a wanted sharpshooter associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and handed him over to Rajasthan authorities for further action, officials said.
The accused has been identified as Pradeep Sharma alias Golu, a 23-year-old resident of Agra in Uttar Pradesh. He was apprehended from the Uttam Nagar area of Delhi on January 16, 2026, following specific intelligence inputs. After initial questioning by the Delhi Crime Branch, Sharma was formally transferred to Rajasthan Police custody.
Police said Sharma was wanted in several criminal cases registered in Ganganagar district of Rajasthan. In March 2025, the gang allegedly extorted Rs 4 crore from a local businessman. When the demand was not met, Sharma was allegedly tasked with carrying out a firing attack at the businessman’s residence as a warning.
In May 2025, Sharma and other gang members allegedly opened fire at the businessman’s house, leading to the registration of a criminal case. Investigators said that even after securing bail, Sharma continued his association with the gang and took on the role of supplying illegal firearms and ammunition to the Lawrence Bishnoi network.
Rajasthan Police recently recovered a substantial cache of arms and ammunition during separate operations, and Sharma was identified as the supplier of those weapons. Officials described him as an active operative who facilitated the gang’s activities across parts of Rajasthan.
In a parallel crackdown on organised crime, the Punjab Police announced a major breakthrough against an extortion module linked to gangster Goldy Brar. The Ludhiana Commissionerate Police dismantled the network following a focused operation spanning three weeks.
According to Punjab Police officials, 10 operatives were arrested during the crackdown. Security forces also seized a significant number of foreign-made firearms, including two Austrian Glock pistols, along with several other sophisticated weapons.
Police said the arrested individuals were involved in extortion, illegal arms trafficking and planning targeted killings to spread fear and disrupt law and order in the state. Cases have been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act, and further investigations are underway to identify and arrest remaining members of the network.
