Unable to cope with the loss of their kid, a couple from Chhattisgarh commits themselves and leaves a video

A tragic incident unfolded in Chhattisgarh’s Janjgir-Champa district where a couple allegedly died by suicide after being unable to cope with the grief of losing their only son in a recent road accident. The deaths came to light after neighbours grew suspicious upon noticing no movement from the house for an extended period and eventually discovered the couple hanging from a tree in their courtyard.

The incident occurred on February 16, when the main entrance of the house belonging to Ramabai Patel (47) and her husband Krishna Patel was found locked from inside. According to local residents, the couple had not been seen for several hours, prompting concern among neighbours. They called out to the couple repeatedly but received no response, which heightened their suspicion. When they looked through a window, they found both individuals hanging from a tree in the courtyard using a saree as a noose.

Neighbours immediately alerted the police, who arrived at the scene and recovered the bodies before sending them for post-mortem examination. During the investigation, officers seized a four-page suicide note and a video reportedly recorded by the couple before their deaths. In the video, the couple was seen requesting that an insurance amount be provided to the husband’s elder brother, according to police sources.

Authorities have registered a case and initiated an investigation, examining all possible aspects surrounding the deaths. Preliminary findings suggest that the couple was deeply distressed following the recent death of their son in a road accident and may have taken the extreme step due to overwhelming grief.

The incident has left the local community in shock, with villagers expressing sorrow and suggesting that emotional and psychological support during the family’s period of mourning might have helped prevent the tragedy. Police officials said further inquiries are ongoing as part of the standard investigation process.
