A couple was found dead in Bengaluru in what police suspect to be a case of suicide, with preliminary findings pointing to ongoing marital discord as a possible factor. Authorities are also examining whether underlying health issues faced by the husband may have contributed to the incident.
The deceased have been identified as Bhanu Chander Reddy and his wife Shazia, both software engineers working in private companies and originally from Telangana. The incident occurred at their residence in the Kothanur area.
According to police, Reddy died by hanging inside the house. After discovering his body, Shazia reportedly jumped from the 17th floor of their apartment building, resulting in her death. The sequence of events suggests a tragic escalation following the initial incident.
Investigators have indicated that the couple had been facing frequent disputes after marriage. They had been together for several years, including a period of living together before getting married, but sources suggest that tensions had increased over time.
Police have registered a case and are continuing their investigation to establish the exact circumstances and contributing factors behind the deaths, including the role of personal, emotional, and health-related issues.
In a separate incident on the outskirts of Bengaluru, another tragic case emerged involving a family allegedly attempting to end their lives due to financial distress. Two women, Asha (55) and her daughter Varshita (32), were found dead with their throats slit inside their home.
Two other family members, Asha’s son Mohan (27) and her 10-year-old grandson Mayank Gowda, survived with injuries and are currently receiving treatment at a hospital. Police suspect that mounting debt may have driven the family to take this extreme step, though further investigation is ongoing to confirm the details.
