cuisine poisoning is suspected when more than 100 police officers in Bihar became unwell after consuming filthy cuisine

More than 100 police personnel in Bihar’s Banka district reportedly fell ill after consuming food served at the police line mess, prompting authorities to rush them to a nearby hospital for treatment. The incident occurred on Friday and immediately raised concerns among officials, who suspect that the illness may have been caused by food poisoning. Although the situation initially caused alarm, authorities have stated that the condition of all the affected personnel is stable and that they are responding well to medical care.

According to officials, the policemen began experiencing health problems shortly after eating a meal prepared at the police mess located within the police lines in Banka. Many of them complained of symptoms soon after consuming the food, which led authorities to suspect contamination or food poisoning. As the number of personnel reporting illness increased rapidly, arrangements were made to transport them to Banka Sadar Hospital for immediate medical attention.

Medical teams at the hospital began treating the affected personnel as soon as they arrived. Doctors have been monitoring their condition closely and providing necessary treatment to manage their symptoms. Hospital authorities confirmed that all the policemen admitted for treatment are currently under observation and that their health condition is stable.

Senior district officials visited the hospital shortly after the incident to assess the situation and ensure that the policemen received appropriate medical care. Banka District Magistrate Navdeep Shukla arrived at the hospital and interacted with doctors and medical staff. During his visit, he directed hospital authorities to provide the best possible treatment and ensure that no lapses occur in the care being given to the affected personnel.

Later, Bhagalpur Range Inspector General of Police Vivek Kumar also visited the hospital to review the situation personally. He met several of the policemen undergoing treatment and discussed their condition with the doctors attending to them. Kumar also sought detailed information from medical staff regarding the symptoms experienced by the policemen and the treatment being administered.

While speaking to reporters, Vivek Kumar reassured the public that all the affected police personnel were receiving proper medical care and that none of them were in serious condition. He confirmed that their health status was stable and that doctors expected them to recover fully.

Kumar also stated that some of the policemen may soon be discharged from the hospital as their health improves. According to him, many of the affected personnel have already shown signs of recovery and are responding positively to treatment.

Following the incident, authorities have indicated that measures will be taken to improve food safety and quality at the police mess to prevent similar situations in the future. Kumar emphasised that ensuring hygienic and safe food for police personnel is an important responsibility and that appropriate steps will be implemented after reviewing the incident.

He also announced that an inquiry would be conducted to determine the exact cause of the illness and to identify whether there were any lapses in food preparation or handling at the mess. The district police chief has been instructed to carry out a detailed investigation into the matter and submit a report.

Meanwhile, Banka Civil Surgeon Jitendra Kumar provided preliminary information regarding the medical findings. According to him, early assessments suggest that the policemen most likely suffered from food poisoning after consuming the meal at the mess. However, further examination and investigation may be conducted to confirm the exact cause.

The civil surgeon also assured that all the affected personnel are currently out of danger and are being treated appropriately. He added that the medical team is continuously monitoring their health, and most of them are showing improvement with the treatment being provided.
