A sudden swarm of honeybees created panic in Venkataapuram village in Telangana’s Sangareddy district on Friday after attacking residents and injuring several people. The unexpected incident disrupted normal activities in the village and caused widespread fear among locals as people scrambled to escape the aggressive swarm.
According to local accounts, the situation unfolded when a large group of honeybees suddenly descended on villagers who were going about their routine work in the area. The bees began attacking people without warning, stinging several residents and forcing many others to run in different directions in an attempt to avoid being attacked.
The sudden nature of the incident caused chaos across the village as residents tried to protect themselves and move away from the area where the bees were swarming. People could be seen running through the streets and open spaces in a state of panic as the bees continued to hover and attack those nearby.
Several individuals who sustained multiple bee stings were quickly taken to a nearby government hospital for medical treatment. Emergency response teams were alerted soon after the attack, and ambulances operating under the 108 emergency service were dispatched to the village to transport the injured residents to the hospital.
However, due to the large number of people affected by the bee stings, the available ambulances were not enough to transport everyone immediately. As a result, some injured villagers had to arrange their own transport or make their way to the hospital with the help of relatives and other locals.
The attack created a tense atmosphere in the village for some time, as the swarm of bees continued to fly around the area. Residents reported that the presence of the aggressive bees forced many people to remain indoors or seek shelter until the situation gradually began to settle.
Eyewitnesses described scenes of confusion and fear as villagers ran for safety while trying to avoid further stings. Many locals said the incident caused significant alarm throughout the community, as the sudden swarm caught people completely off guard.
Footage of the attack captured by CCTV cameras installed in parts of the village has also begun circulating. The visuals show residents rushing away and attempting to take cover as the bees swarm around them, highlighting the chaotic moments during the incident.
Authorities have not yet released an official figure regarding the total number of people injured in the attack. Officials are expected to gather further information and assess the situation before confirming the exact number of victims and the extent of the injuries sustained by the residents.
