Three young girls were found dead in a water tank in Telangana’s Kamareddy district on Saturday, in a case that has deeply disturbed the local community. Police officials suspect that the children’s father may have pushed them into the reservoir. Earlier in the day, the girls had reportedly left home with him but did not return, prompting concern among family members.
The victims, aged eight, seven, and five years, were residents of Kamareddy. According to preliminary findings, the children had accompanied their father to purchase snacks from a nearby grocery store. When several hours passed without their return, anxious relatives began searching in nearby areas and contacting acquaintances for information.
After efforts by the family failed to trace the children, a missing persons complaint was filed and police initiated a formal search operation. Authorities formed three special teams to locate the children and began examining possible leads, movements, and local surveillance inputs as part of the investigation.
During the course of inquiries, suspicion reportedly turned toward the father. Police sources indicated that he was suspected of pushing the children into the water tank. Officials clarified that the investigation remains ongoing and that all circumstances surrounding the deaths are being carefully examined.
Search personnel began combing the reservoir area, and during the operation, the bodies of two of the girls were recovered from the water. Rescue efforts continued for the third child, and the body of the eight-year-old was located later after an extended search.
The recovery of the bodies led to emotional scenes at the site, with family members and onlookers gathering in large numbers. The children’s mother was seen in deep distress as the tragic developments unfolded.
The search and recovery mission was carried out under the supervision of Chaitanya Reddy, Assistant Superintendent of Police of the Kamareddy Sub-Division, who oversaw the coordinated efforts of the teams on the ground.
The incident has sent shockwaves across Kamareddy district, with residents assembling near the reservoir and calling for a thorough and transparent investigation into the circumstances that led to the deaths of the three sisters.
