A tragic incident in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district has come to light, where a man allegedly killed his wife following a domestic dispute and attempted to conceal the crime by disposing of her body in a septic tank within their home. The case surfaced after the couple’s four-year-old son, who witnessed the घटना, informed neighbours, ultimately leading to the exposure of the crime.
The incident occurred in Borgaan village on April 11, shortly after the couple, Subas Gond and his wife Manai Gond, returned home from a wedding function with their children. According to initial reports, an argument broke out between the two, reportedly linked to suspicions about the woman’s character. The dispute escalated into violence, during which the accused allegedly assaulted his wife, resulting in her death at the scene.
Family members of the victim have claimed that the accused was under the influence of alcohol at the time, which may have contributed to the intensity of the altercation. Following the incident, Subas Gond allegedly attempted to hide the crime by placing the body inside the septic tank at their residence.
The situation came to light when the couple’s young son, who had witnessed the घटना, alerted neighbours and relatives about what had happened. This prompted locals to confront the accused. Although he initially attempted to mislead them, he later confessed when questioned by those present.
Police were subsequently informed and arrived at the location, where they recovered the body from the septic tank. The accused has been detained for questioning, and further investigation is underway to establish the complete sequence of events and gather evidence for legal proceedings.
