A 38-year-old man in Madhya Pradesh’s Khargone district has been arrested for allegedly killing his second wife following a domestic dispute and then remaining in the same room with her body for two days, along with their young children.
The accused, Jagdish Dabar, lived with his 25-year-old wife Reemabai and their two children, aged three and four, in a village about 80 km from the district headquarters. Police said the couple frequently argued, and the man was reportedly known to assault his wife during such disputes.
On the night of the incident, an argument over food escalated into violence. According to investigators, Jagdish attacked Reemabai with a wooden stick, repeatedly hitting her and causing severe injuries that led to her death due to excessive bleeding.
After the incident, he allegedly did not inform authorities and instead stayed in the house, even sleeping on the same cot beside the body for two days while the children remained present in the room.
The case came to light when the accused’s father informed the police. Officers reached the spot, recovered the body, and arrested Jagdish. He was later produced in court and has been sent to judicial custody.
Police further revealed that Jagdish had previously left his first wife and four children before marrying Reemabai, who was reportedly his sister-in-law. Authorities have stated that the investigation is ongoing to determine all the circumstances surrounding the crime.
