A gym instructor in Karnataka is beaten; accusations of rape and blackmail are made against him

A 23-year-old gym trainer, Sameer Mulla, was allegedly assaulted in Karnataka’s Hubballi following a dispute linked to his relationship with a 20-year-old woman, with police now investigating serious allegations from both sides.

According to police, the incident began when a group confronted Sameer at his residence, reportedly over his relationship with the woman. During the altercation, he was allegedly taken away and physically assaulted before being brought to a police station. He is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital and has claimed that he was beaten severely and pressured to falsely admit involvement in “love jihad,” which he refused, leading to further assault.

Meanwhile, the woman has accused Sameer of rape and blackmail. In a video statement, she alleged that he took her to his house, gave her a drink, sexually assaulted her, and recorded the act. She further claimed that he later used the video to threaten and blackmail her. Her parents have supported her claims, alleging harassment and intimidation by Sameer and his family.

On the other hand, Sameer’s family has denied the allegations and stated that the two were in a consensual relationship for the past three years. His sister alleged that he was forcibly abducted and attacked by a group and that misleading narratives were being spread against him. The family has filed a complaint demanding action against those involved in the assault.

Police officials have clarified that the case appears to stem from a personal dispute between two families and is not linked to any larger conspiracy narratives. Authorities have registered a case and are investigating multiple complaints, including allegations of assault, rape, blackmail, and intimidation.

Additional incidents related to the dispute have also surfaced, including claims of clashes between both families at their respective homes. Police have stated that all aspects of the case will be examined thoroughly, and action will be taken based on evidence as the investigation progresses.
