Sahil Chauhan, the most wanted mobster, was deported from Thailand and taken into prison by the STF

In a significant development for Indian law enforcement, most-wanted gangster Sahil Chauhan is being brought back to India following his deportation from Thailand, marking a major step in efforts to curb transnational organised crime. Officials confirmed that he will arrive at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, where he will be taken into custody immediately by the Haryana Special Task Force upon landing.

Chauhan has long been on the radar of multiple agencies and is wanted by the National Investigation Agency in connection with several serious cases. He is believed to be a key operative in the criminal network led by Kaushal Chaudhary, who is currently lodged in a jail in Haryana. Investigators consider Chauhan an important link in the gang’s operations, particularly in coordinating activities from outside the country.

Authorities allege that while operating from abroad, Chauhan played a central role in orchestrating contract killings and managing criminal operations remotely. His ability to function across borders had made him a high-priority target, with agencies working for an extended period to track and detain him.

His recent detention overseas is understood to be the result of coordinated efforts between Indian agencies and foreign authorities. The subsequent deportation reflects growing international cooperation in addressing organised crime networks that operate beyond national boundaries.

Security arrangements have been tightened at the Delhi airport ahead of his arrival, given the sensitivity of the case. After being formally taken into custody, Chauhan is expected to be produced before a court, following which he may be transferred to Haryana for further interrogation and investigation.

Officials view the deportation as a major breakthrough, not only in apprehending a key figure but also in advancing broader efforts to dismantle organised crime syndicates with cross-border reach.
