One of the nine complainants in the Tata Consultancy Services Nashik sexual harassment and alleged forced conversion case has described in detail the harassment she faced, stating that the accused repeatedly subjected her to inappropriate behavior, including body shaming, intrusive personal questioning, and uncomfortable interactions in the workplace.
The woman explained that she was frequently called over to the desks of the accused under the pretense of discussing work-related matters, but instead, these interactions would turn into personal and inappropriate conversations. She alleged that the individuals involved would stare at her in a manner she found disturbing, pass remarks about her physical appearance, and make comments that left her feeling humiliated and uneasy.
According to her statement, she had been working as an associate at the Nashik branch since June 2025. During this period, she claimed that two of the accused, Shahrukh Qureshi and Raza Memon, repeatedly made comments about her body, suggesting that she was too thin and advising her to join a gym in order to improve her appearance. These remarks, she said, were unsolicited and deeply uncomfortable.
She further alleged that in January, Qureshi called her to his desk and began asking questions about her family and her personal life, including whether she had a boyfriend or had been in any past relationships. The nature of these questions, she stated, made her feel embarrassed and violated. Shortly after, both Qureshi and Memon allegedly called her again, where similar comments about her body and personal life were made, including repeated inquiries about her relationship status.
The complainant also described a specific incident that took place on March 19, 2026, during the festival of Gudi Padwa. On that day, she had come to the office dressed in traditional attire appropriate for the occasion. She alleged that Raza Memon repeatedly called her over, stared at her inappropriately, and made remarks that questioned both her appearance and her observance of the festival. She stated that this incident caused her significant distress and embarrassment.
In addition to this, she claimed that Qureshi persistently tried to initiate personal conversations with her beyond professional boundaries. She alleged that he monitored her movements within the office and repeatedly asked her to go out with him, even after she had clearly refused. This pattern of behavior, she said, caused her considerable mental stress and discomfort over time.
The woman stated that she initially hesitated to report these incidents through internal channels, as she believed the accused held a certain level of influence within the workplace. However, as the behavior continued, she eventually decided to approach the police along with other employees who had reportedly experienced similar issues.
In her formal complaint, she mentioned that between January 2026 and April 1, 2026, she was subjected to repeated harassment, including inappropriate comments, unwelcome personal questions, and conduct that made her feel uncomfortable, disrespected, and humiliated.
Police have confirmed that statements from other complainants are currently being recorded as part of the ongoing investigation. Authorities indicated that further action will be taken based on the evidence collected and findings that emerge as the case progresses. The matter has drawn widespread attention and continues to remain under active investigation.
