A police rescue operation in Bihar unexpectedly led to the recovery of a second missing child, bringing an emotional end to a case that had remained unresolved for nearly four years.
The incident took place in Aurangabad district, where police teams were conducting a raid to rescue a four-year-old boy named Aadvik, who had allegedly been kidnapped on May 16.
According to officials, police traced the child to the residence of the accused woman Ranjoo Devi in the Obra area and successfully rescued Aadvik during the operation.
However, during the raid, investigators made an unexpected discovery when they found another young child living inside the same house. Upon further questioning and verification, police realised that the boy was actually Shivam, a child who had reportedly gone missing back in 2022.
Police said Shivam had allegedly been abducted nearly four years ago from a temple in Obra during celebrations associated with the Vat Savitri Puja festival.
During initial questioning, Ranjoo Devi reportedly claimed that Shivam was her biological son. However, police later carried out verification procedures and confirmed the child’s real identity.
After establishing that Shivam belonged to another family and had been missing for years, authorities decided to reunite him with his biological parents.
The emotional reunion reportedly left family members and police personnel deeply moved. According to officials, when Shivam first saw his mother after nearly four years, he initially appeared nervous and frightened. Moments later, however, the child reportedly broke down emotionally and hugged his mother tightly.
His mother, Shanti Pandey, also became emotional during the reunion and embraced her son after years of separation and uncertainty regarding his whereabouts.
The incident has generated widespread praise for the police team involved in the rescue operation, particularly because the raid not only led to the recovery of the recently kidnapped child but also solved an older missing child case that had remained unresolved for years.
Reacting to the operation, Prakash Chandra stated that by reuniting two mothers with their children, the police had strengthened public trust and confidence in law enforcement agencies.
The case is now expected to remain under investigation as police continue questioning the accused woman regarding both the recent kidnapping and the older disappearance case involving Shivam.
