According to Priyanka Chopra, housework is not a woman's job but rather a fundamental aspect of adulthood

Actor Priyanka Chopra has spoken about gender bias in domestic responsibilities, saying that tasks like cooking and cleaning should not be considered women’s work. She emphasized that these are basic life skills and should not be linked to gender roles.

During an interview at Cannes Lions, she addressed how household duties are often still expected to be handled by women in many homes. She pushed back against this mindset, saying cooking, cleaning, and managing daily chores are part of “adulting,” not gender-specific responsibilities.

She said, “Cleaning and cooking aren’t women’s work. They’re basic adulting. Don’t confuse gender with laziness.”

The 43-year-old also discussed the evolving nature of global cinema and storytelling, noting how technology has made it easier for new creators to enter the industry. She highlighted how independent ideas can now be turned into films and shared widely through platforms like YouTube.

Priyanka praised the changing creative landscape, saying it is a “wonderful time” to be in entertainment, as barriers to entry have significantly reduced.

On the professional front, she revealed that she will be working with actor Angelina Jolie on an upcoming project, though she did not share details about whether it is a film, advertisement, or philanthropic collaboration.

She is also set to launch a project with Orlando Bloom, while further building anticipation around her upcoming appearance in SS Rajamouli’s film Varanasi, which stars Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
