Actor-politician Khushbu Sundar has reacted strongly to online criticism after she posted photos from her daughter Avantika’s wedding celebrations, which took place around the same time as the death of filmmaker and actor K Bhagyaraj.
The controversy began after she shared a candid image with her husband Sundar C from the wedding held in Goa. A social media user questioned the timing of the post, suggesting it was inappropriate given the state of mourning following Bhagyaraj’s death.
Khushbu responded sharply, defending her post and questioning the criticism directed at her. She said her daughter had been married only a couple of days earlier and asked why people who disapproved continued to follow her account. She added that she had every right to share moments of happiness from a personal family event.
The backlash emerged shortly after news broke that K Bhagyaraj had died at the age of 73 due to a cardiac arrest. As tributes were shared widely across the Tamil film industry, videos and images from Avantika’s wedding also circulated online, including interactions involving several film personalities.
Khushbu also separately paid tribute to Bhagyaraj on social media, remembering him and expressing that her memories of him would remain with her.
Avantika’s wedding to Shravan Sreenivasan in Goa was attended by several prominent film personalities, making it a high-profile celebration.
Bhagyaraj, who had a long career spanning acting, directing and writing, was known for several notable films and remains a respected figure in Indian cinema.
