Suniel Shetty describes how her granddaughter Evaarah uses PM Modi's picture as part of a daily ritual

Actor Suniel Shetty has shared that his 15-month-old granddaughter, Evaarah, has developed a daily routine of acknowledging a photograph of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and pretending to offer it sweets every morning.

In a recent interview, the 64-year-old actor said the habit appears to have started unintentionally and was not taught by any family member. He explained that Evaarah, daughter of Athiya Shetty and cricketer KL Rahul, begins her mornings by opening a Sai Baba book that contains a picture of the Prime Minister, pointing at it, and saying “Modi ji”, before mimicking the act of offering laddoos after visiting the family’s Ganpati idol.

According to Suniel, the practice began after a nanny once casually pointed out a photograph of PM Modi at an airport and referred to him by name. He suggested that the brief moment seems to have stayed with the child.

He added that the family never instructed or encouraged the ritual and that it developed on its own after that initial exposure.

During the same interview, Suniel Shetty also spoke about his admiration for Prime Minister Modi, recalling a meeting with him in Ahmedabad around 2010, which he said left a strong impression on him due to the leader’s punctuality and attentiveness.

The actor has previously spoken about his affection for his granddaughter, describing her as a joyful presence in the family and expressing how much time he spends with her.

Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul married in 2023 and welcomed their daughter in 2025.
