Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed gratitude to Qatar’s Emir, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, for personally calling to convey condolences following the deaths of 12 Indian nationals in a recent explosion at an LNG facility in Qatar.
In a post on X, Modi said he appreciated the Emir’s gesture and noted that both leaders shared the sorrow of the families affected by the tragedy at Ras Laffan Industrial City.
The Prime Minister stated that he thanked the Qatari ruler for reaching out after the accident and offering condolences over the loss of Indian lives. He added that both countries stood with the bereaved families and hoped for the swift recovery of those injured in the incident.
Modi also highlighted the commitment of India and Qatar to the welfare of their citizens. He said both nations remain dedicated to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of their people and continue to stand together in solidarity during difficult times.
The conversation reflected the close ties between India and Qatar as the two countries coordinate support for those affected by the industrial accident and their families.
