The Central Board of Secondary Education (Central Board of Secondary Education) released its Class 12 re-evaluation results on June 21, leading to significant changes in marks and bringing national attention to students from Jharkhand.
After the revised results, students from the state topped all three streams of the Class 12 examination. Avani Kejriwal emerged as the national topper in Commerce, Aditya Mishra became a joint national topper in Science, and Bhavya Ranjan retained the top position in the Arts stream with 99.8%.
Avani Kejriwal, a student from Ranchi, saw one of the most dramatic revisions after applying for re-evaluation. Initially scoring 95.2%, she had been dissatisfied with her English marks, where she received 81. She requested re-evaluation in English, Business Studies, and Graphics. After reassessment, her marks increased across all three subjects, with English rising from 81 to 100. This resulted in a perfect score of 500 out of 500, making her the only student in the country to achieve 100% in the CBSE Class 12 exams this year. Her revised score also placed her ahead of the earlier Commerce topper, Priya Babulal from Bokaro, who had originally scored 99.4%.
In the Science stream, Aditya Mishra of Delhi Public School, Bokaro, also benefited significantly from the re-evaluation process. His overall percentage increased from 99.20% to 99.60%, making him a joint national topper along with Sonakshi Goyal from Kanpur. He had challenged his Biology marks, which were revised from 96 to 99. He achieved 100 marks in English, Chemistry, and Painting, and 99 in Physics.
Bhavya Ranjan of Oxford Public School, Ranchi, remained the Arts stream topper with 99.8%, maintaining her position even after the updated results.
Following the re-evaluation, Jharkhand students secured the highest positions across all three streams, marking a notable outcome in this year’s CBSE Class 12 results and highlighting the impact of the re-checking process on final scores.
