Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has spoken about the engagement of his daughter, Ida Ali, to her longtime boyfriend, Krish Agarwal, describing it as "the greatest happiness" of his life. The couple recently got engaged after Krish planned a scenic proposal in Norway.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, Imtiaz revealed that Krish followed tradition by seeking his blessing before proposing.
"It is the greatest happiness for me," the filmmaker said, adding, "Krish did speak to me before proposing to Ida."
The proposal took place on July 1, when Krish went down on one knee against the picturesque backdrop of Norway and asked Ida to marry him. On Sunday, the 25-year-old aspiring filmmaker shared a video of the intimate proposal on Instagram, offering followers a glimpse of the special moment.
Ida also shared details about her fiancé, revealing that 24-year-old Krish works as a quantitative researcher at a hedge fund. The couple had been in a long-term relationship before getting engaged.
As congratulatory messages continue to pour in, attention has shifted to the couple's wedding plans. However, Imtiaz said there is no rush and that he wants the couple to enjoy this phase of their lives.
"I would rather not step in and let them enjoy their moment," he said.
Sharing a similar sentiment, Ida said they are not planning a wedding anytime soon.
"There are no wedding plans yet! We're just enjoying the moment, like my dad said," she said.
