Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has shared the biggest production update on Spirit so far, revealing that nearly 40 per cent of the Prabhas-starrer has already been filmed. The announcement gives fans their clearest indication yet of the project's progress after months of limited updates.
Vanga disclosed the milestone during an interaction at the Telangana Talent Association (TTA) convention in Charlotte, North Carolina. His remarks come weeks after the makers dismissed reports of a possible delay and reiterated that Spirit remains on schedule for its worldwide theatrical release on March 5, 2027.
Prabhas, who is currently vacationing in Italy, is expected to return and resume work on Fauzi before joining the next shooting schedule of Spirit. The film has been extensively shot in Hyderabad, with key schedules—including prison scenes filmed at Chanchalguda Central Jail and major action sequences in Kukatpally—already completed.
In Spirit, Prabhas plays a fierce police officer, marking his first collaboration with Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The film also stars Triptii Dimri as the female lead, while Vivek Oberoi and Prakash Raj feature in important roles. Produced by T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures, the action drama is being made as a pan-world release in eight languages.
The update came during the same TTA convention where Vanga shared the stage with filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma. A video from the event recently went viral, showing Varma dancing to Jamal Kudu as Vanga whistled, applauded and cheered him on, drawing enthusiastic reactions from the audience.
Considered one of the biggest Indian releases slated for 2027, Spirit also marks Vanga's reunion with T-Series after the blockbuster success of Animal. With around 40 per cent of filming now complete, the makers are expected to wrap up the remaining shoot over the coming months before the film enters post-production.
