Marvel Studios has revealed several major updates about Avengers: Doomsday ahead of its theatrical release, including the film's runtime and plans for an unusually early premium ticket sale.
One of the biggest announcements is that tickets for premium-format screenings will go on sale on July 20, 2026, nearly five months before the film's worldwide release on December 18. The early rollout reflects Marvel's confidence in Avengers: Doomsday as one of the studio's biggest releases.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film has a runtime of 165 minutes (2 hours and 45 minutes). It will be longer than Avengers: Infinity War (149 minutes) but shorter than Avengers: Endgame (181 minutes).
However, the advance ticket sale will initially be limited to Infinity Vision venues, Disney's new premium large-format screening experience, which will host select screenings of the film.
The strategy is widely seen as a response to growing competition for premium cinema screens during the holiday season. With Warner Bros. having already secured IMAX screens for Dune: Part Three during the same release window, Disney appears to be encouraging fans to reserve premium seats early through its Infinity Vision rollout.
Marvel is also expected to make a major appearance at San Diego Comic-Con on July 25, where fans anticipate the debut of the first full trailer for Avengers: Doomsday. Although a teaser was screened exclusively at CinemaCon earlier this year, the footage has not been publicly released due to strict security measures.
According to the report, Marvel plans to premiere a brand-new trailer at Comic-Con before attaching it to Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which arrives in theatres on July 31.
Notably, both Avengers: Doomsday and Spider-Man: Brand New Day skipped Super Bowl trailer debuts this year, ending a Marvel marketing tradition that had continued for the past 16 years.
Fans also recently got their first detailed look at Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom mask through newly released concept art from Avengers: Doomsday. The artwork, shared by former Marvel Studios visual development director Andy Park on X on July 11, also features fresh looks at Loki and several returning X-Men characters who have yet to appear in the film's official promotional material.
Park described Avengers: Doomsday as one of the most significant projects he worked on during his tenure at Marvel Studios.
The film will bring together several of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's biggest teams, including the Fantastic Four, the New Avengers (formerly the Thunderbolts) and heroes from Wakanda, making it one of Marvel's most ambitious crossover films to date.
Avengers: Doomsday is also expected to set the stage for Avengers: Secret Wars, which is scheduled for release in 2027.
The film is set for a worldwide theatrical release on December 18, 2026.
