Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Prayagraj on Sunday, where he inaugurated several development projects, distributed benefits under various government welfare schemes and felicitated sportspersons for their achievements.
During his visit, the Chief Minister participated in a series of public events focused on social welfare, public outreach and empowerment. As part of the programme, he distributed tricycles to persons with disabilities under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, reaffirming the state's commitment to promoting accessibility and inclusion.
Adityanath also visited exhibitions organised by different government departments, where officials showcased the implementation and impact of various welfare and development initiatives. He interacted with beneficiaries and reviewed exhibits highlighting government programmes across multiple sectors.
As part of the day's events, the Chief Minister flagged off a boat rally on the Yamuna River. He also unveiled statues of three prominent leaders—Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Ashok Singhal—at the Prerna Sthal in Prayagraj.
During the programme, Adityanath honoured beneficiaries of several welfare schemes and felicitated athletes in recognition of their achievements in various sporting events.
Beneficiaries of the PM Surya Ghar Yojana were presented with certificates, while sanitation workers received sanitation kits as part of the government's initiative to improve the working conditions of frontline civic personnel.
The PM Surya Ghar Yojana is a government programme aimed at providing free electricity to households through the installation of rooftop solar panels.
The Chief Minister also handed over house keys to beneficiaries of a government housing scheme and distributed financial assistance cheques under the PM SVANidhi scheme, which offers collateral-free working capital loans to street vendors.
Officials said the programmes were intended to strengthen the implementation of welfare initiatives and ensure that government benefits reach eligible citizens. The visit forms part of the Uttar Pradesh government's continued emphasis on social welfare, infrastructure development and direct public engagement across the state.
