Shilpa Shinde joins Lock Upp Season 2 as the first wildcard contestant
Actor Shilpa Shinde has entered Lock Upp Season 2 as the show's first wildcard contestant. Netflix announced her arrival with a promotional video that teases a major shift in the competition. Her entry comes shortly after she was in the news for admitting that the sexual harassment complaint she had filed against producer Sanjay Kohli in 2017 was false.
In the promo, Shilpa hints at disrupting the existing dynamics inside the house. She says that the contestants may feel secure in their positions for now, but their dominance will last only until someone from outside steps in to challenge them.
Sharing the promo, the makers wrote, "Sahi pakde hai! Ab game palatne wala hai. Watch Lock Upp, every Saturday to Thursday, raat 8 baje, only on Netflix."
Best known for playing Angoori Bhabhi in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!, Shilpa enjoys a strong fan following and is expected to bring fresh energy and unpredictability to the reality show.
Her arrival comes at an important stage of the competition. The latest episode also saw the season's first eviction, with Shrestha Iyer becoming the first contestant to leave the show. Meanwhile, Akanksha Chamola and Madhuri Jain Grover survived the elimination round and continue their journey in the competition.
Hosted by Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh, Lock Upp Season 2 premiered on June 27 and streams on Netflix. The current lineup includes Ram Kapoor, Pamala Serena, Shivangi Joshi, Dheeraj Dhoopar, Akanksha Choudhary, Yogesh Rawat, Shreya Kalra, Sunita Ahuja, Akanksha Chamola, Harshad Chopda, Madhuri Jain Grover, Varun Yadav (Laila), Sufi Motiwala, Riyaz Aly, and Shilpa Shinde as the first wildcard entrant.
