Six terrorists connected to Pakistani mobster Shahzad Bhatti are detained by Delhi Police

The Delhi Police Special Cell has dismantled two alleged modules linked to Pakistan-based gangster-terror operative Shahzad Bhatti, arresting six suspects during a coordinated operation across Delhi, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh, officials said on Sunday.

According to police, the operation led to the busting of an alleged terror module as well as an illegal arms trafficking network believed to be connected to Bhatti. The arrests were made following simultaneous raids conducted at multiple locations across the three states.

Officials said the six accused were allegedly associated with the network and are currently being interrogated to determine the full scope of the conspiracy and identify other individuals involved.

During the searches, police recovered several firearms, petrol bombs and vehicles allegedly used by members of the network. The seized items are being examined as part of the ongoing investigation.

The Special Cell said the investigation is focused on uncovering the broader network, including its funding channels, logistical support and operational connections. Investigators are also examining whether the arrested suspects were involved in planning or carrying out any specific acts of violence.

Police officials noted that petrol bombs were also used in the recent attack on the RSS office in Ranchi and said investigators would examine whether there was any connection between that incident and the network allegedly linked to Shahzad Bhatti. However, they clarified that no such link has been officially established at this stage.

According to the Delhi Police, the investigation is still in its early stages, and the accused are being questioned to gather more information about the alleged terror and arms trafficking modules. Officials said further arrests and additional recoveries are likely as the investigation progresses.

The operation is part of the Special Cell's ongoing efforts to dismantle cross-border terror and organised crime networks operating across different parts of the country. Authorities said all evidence seized during the raids is being analysed, while investigators continue to establish the role of each accused and identify any additional operatives linked to the alleged modules.

Police said more information is expected to emerge as the investigation moves forward.
