TV actor Saanvie Tallwar claims that Karan Kundra assaulted her on set

Karan Kundrra accused of assault by former co-star Saanvie Tallwar; actor yet to respond

Actor Saanvie Tallwar has accused her former Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum co-star Karan Kundrra of harassment and assault during the filming of the television show. Kundrra has not responded to the allegations, while his fiancée, actor Tejasswi Prakash, has also remained silent on the matter.

In separate interviews with multiple publications, Tallwar, 33, claimed tensions developed on the set because she preferred to keep to herself instead of socialising with the cast and crew. According to her, this reportedly upset Kundrra, 41, as well as the show's director. She alleged that an incident during the shooting of a scene escalated into a physical altercation, after which the atmosphere on set became hostile.

Speaking to Filmibeat, Tallwar alleged that Kundrra kissed her before the director called "action."

"There was a scene, but the director hadn't clapped action. Even before that, he kissed me, and I slapped him. He didn't react at that time, but then he came back after some time and slapped me hard. There is a difference between the intensity of a girl's and a man's slap. I fell on the floor, and then he abused me and my family," she claimed.

Tallwar further alleged that no one immediately came to her support following the incident.

"Nobody supported me. Later, Ektaa ma'am (Kapoor) apologised on Karan's behalf and supported me. She managed to make things easy," she said.

She also claimed Kundrra was in a relationship with actor Anusha Dandekar at the time, alleging that Dandekar began visiting the sets after learning about the incident. However, Tallwar said the work environment continued to remain difficult because of Kundrra and the director.

In another interview with The GlamWorld Talks, Tallwar alleged that the director began questioning her acting abilities after she stood up for herself. She did not name the director. Deepak Vithoba Chauhan, Ranjan Kumar Singh and Randeep Shantaram Mahadik have all been credited as directors of Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum (2015).

Tallwar also claimed she felt Kundrra was interested in her but that she did not reciprocate his advances, adding that she chose to maintain her distance.

Kundrra has not publicly responded to the allegations.

The accusations surfaced months after Kundrra and Tejasswi Prakash got engaged on Netflix's Desi Bling.

Amid the controversy, Kundrra made his first public appearance on Thursday. In videos shared by paparazzi accounts, he was seen leaving a gym in Mumbai, smiling, waving at photographers and driving away without addressing the allegations.
