Yash-starrer Toxic continued its theatrical run with a sizeable collection on Day 3, earning Rs 26.60 crore nett in India on Friday. The film's India gross collection has now reached Rs 197.70 crore, while its India nett total stands at Rs 165.35 crore. The film added another Rs 4 crore from overseas markets on Day 3, taking its overseas gross to Rs 23.75 crore and worldwide gross to Rs 221.45 crore.
Despite crossing the Rs 200 crore mark in India gross collections, Toxic remained well behind Yash's previous blockbuster KGF: Chapter 2 after three days. The latter had collected Rs 288.50 crore nett in India by the end of Day 3, compared with Toxic's Rs 165.35 crore. The difference increased from Rs 14.90 crore on the opening day to Rs 123.15 crore after three days.
Trade tracker Sacnilk reported that Toxic recorded an overall occupancy of 25.5% across 19,390 shows on Friday. Hindi contributed Rs 19.15 crore at 26% occupancy from 14,274 shows, while Kannada earned Rs 5 crore and registered the highest occupancy of 37% across 1,363 shows. Telugu added Rs 1.50 crore at 22% occupancy from 1,830 shows, Tamil contributed Rs 0.75 crore at 16% occupancy across 1,632 shows, and Malayalam brought in Rs 0.20 crore at 24% occupancy from 291 shows.
TOXIC SEES SHARP DROP AFTER OPENING DAY
The Day 3 collection of Rs 26.60 crore represented another decline for Toxic. The film had earned Rs 37.65 crore on Day 2, when it recorded 26.6% occupancy across 22,629 shows.
That was already a significant drop from Wednesday's opening. Toxic had collected Rs 101.10 crore nett on Day 1, recording 56.1% occupancy across 24,579 shows.
With Rs 101.10 crore on Day 1, Rs 37.65 crore on Day 2 and Rs 26.60 crore on Day 3, the film's India nett total after three days stood at Rs 165.35 crore.
TOXIC VS KGF: CHAPTER 2
The comparison with KGF: Chapter 2 shows how quickly the gap has expanded. Toxic began relatively close to the earlier Yash blockbuster, collecting Rs 101.10 crore on its first day compared with Rs 116 crore for KGF: Chapter 2.
The difference widened dramatically on Day 2, when Toxic earned Rs 37.65 crore against Rs 90.50 crore for KGF: Chapter 2. By the third day, the gap had grown further, with Toxic collecting Rs 26.60 crore compared with Rs 82 crore for KGF: Chapter 2.
By the end of Day 3, KGF: Chapter 2 had therefore earned Rs 123.15 crore more than Toxic in India nett collections.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic stars Yash alongside Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth and Tara Sutaria. The film was released in Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and English.
India Today awarded the film two stars in its review, describing the story as being heavily centred on Raya, Yash's character, with the other characters largely serving to shape his journey.
The film has also attracted attention for its intimate sequences and imagery and dialogue involving women. The Central Board of Film Certification cleared Toxic without cuts and awarded it an A certificate.
