NFL star Travis Kelce has opened up about his wedding to singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, revealing that having Adam Sandler officiate the ceremony was “more than we could have ever imagined”. Reflecting on the intimate New York celebration, Kelce called Sandler’s involvement “absolutely insane” and said it made the occasion one he and Swift would always remember.
During the September 2 episode of New Heights, which he hosts with his brother Jason Kelce, Kelce looked back on the celebration held at Madison Square Garden. He expressed gratitude to everyone who attended and described the entire evening as “so magical” from beginning to end.
“It’s a night out we’ll never forget,” Kelce said, adding that he and Swift were deeply appreciative of everyone who was part of the celebration. He also mentioned hearing guests recount their own memories from the night and reiterated how thankful the couple was to those who attended.
Kelce revealed that Sandler officiated the wedding after becoming ordained in New York and praised the actor for agreeing to take on the responsibility. He described Sandler as “just the f***ing best person on this planet” and said his willingness to become ordained in New York and marry the couple made the occasion particularly special.
According to Kelce, Sandler brought his own distinctive personality to the ceremony and gave the couple far more than they had anticipated on what Kelce described as the biggest night of their lives. He said Sandler’s role was “absolutely insane” and contributed to an unforgettable evening filled with emotional moments and celebrations.
Kelce did admit to having one small regret about the celebration: he wished it had lasted longer. He said the night seemed to pass almost instantly and that he wanted it to continue for even more time. Despite that, he said the wedding remained an unforgettable memory for both him and Swift.
Swift and Kelce first sparked dating rumours in late summer 2023 after the NFL star famously attempted—and initially failed—to give the singer a friendship bracelet containing his phone number during her Eras Tour concert in Kansas City.
The singer later got in touch with the tight end and publicly confirmed their relationship by attending a Kansas City Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium in September that year.
Over the following two years, the pair became one of pop culture’s most prominent couples, supporting one another through Swift’s record-breaking tours, Kelce’s NFL championship campaigns and major public events. They announced their engagement in August 2025.
Their July 2026 wedding at Manhattan’s Madison Square Garden marked the culmination of their high-profile romance. The private, star-studded ceremony was attended by family members and close friends.
