Aditya Dhar supports Hanuman Ansh as the movie earns over Rs 140 crore globally

Dhurandhar director Aditya Dhar has expressed his support for Hanuman Ansh, becoming the latest Bollywood personality to praise Vishal Chaturvedi’s film. Dhar shared the movie’s poster on his Instagram Stories, tagged Chaturvedi and added an Om symbol along with love and folded-hands emojis.

The endorsement comes as Hanuman Ansh continues its surprising box-office journey. The film has earned more than Rs 140 crore gross worldwide, an impressive achievement for a project reportedly made on a budget of around Rs 2 crore. Dhar did not add a lengthy message, instead allowing his Instagram Story to convey his appreciation. His post came shortly after actor Varun Dhawan also encouraged audiences to watch the film.

Varun Dhawan recently watched Hanuman Ansh at a theatre with his mother and shared a video praising the movie. He said no one had asked him to make the video and described the experience as “something divine”. He also lauded lead actor Shobhinaw Satyaa and director Vishal Chaturvedi.

The film’s performance is especially noteworthy as it reached theatres without the extensive promotional campaign typically associated with a successful box-office release. Positive word of mouth appears to have played a major role in attracting audiences, with the film collecting Rs 122.13 crore net in India over 31 days.

For Chaturvedi, the film’s success has also led to messages of congratulations from several Bollywood personalities who had not supported him when he was seeking help. During a recent appearance on The Raunac Podcast, the filmmaker spoke about those who contacted him after the film started performing well.

He specifically mentioned filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, who congratulated him even though Chaturvedi had never approached him for support. Chaturvedi did not reveal the names of the others, saying he had sought their assistance in the past but they had not helped him.

Hanuman Ansh is based on the life of Neem Karoli Baba and is currently running in theatres.
