The first Saturday gave both Daayra and Vibe a much-needed boost at the box office. While Meghna Gulzar’s crime thriller, led by Prithviraj Sukumaran and Kareena Kapoor Khan, saw its India net earnings rise by 60 per cent, Kunal Kemmu’s action comedy remained ahead of its box-office competitor after two days.
Released in theatres on September 18, Daayra collected an estimated Rs 1.60 crore net in India on Day 2, according to Sacnilk. The film had opened with Rs 1 crore on Friday, taking its two-day India net total to Rs 2.60 crore.
Meanwhile, Vibe recorded a higher collection on its first Saturday, earning Rs 2.65 crore net from 2,979 shows. After collecting Rs 1.70 crore on its opening day, the film’s two-day total stood at Rs 4.35 crore. As a result, Vibe continued to lead Daayra in the two-day box-office comparison.
Daayra box office Day 2
Daayra was screened across 2,062 shows in India on Saturday and recorded an overall occupancy of 20.46 per cent. Morning screenings registered 8.15 per cent occupancy, while afternoon shows recorded 19.77 per cent.
The film attracted more viewers during the later part of the day, with evening shows registering 27.23 per cent occupancy and night screenings recording 26.69 per cent.
Bengaluru recorded the highest occupancy for Daayra among major cities at 45.3 per cent. Chennai followed at 28.5 per cent, while Bhopal and Pune recorded 26 per cent and 24 per cent, respectively. The National Capital Region registered 23 per cent occupancy, while Mumbai stood at 20 per cent.
After two days, Daayra has collected Rs 3.10 crore gross in India.
Vibe box office Day 2
Vibe recorded a 55.9 per cent rise in its India net earnings on Saturday. The film earned Rs 2.65 crore from 2,979 shows, compared with Rs 1.70 crore from 3,194 shows on its opening day.
Its overall occupancy also increased from 14 per cent on Friday to 21 per cent on Saturday. The Hindi 2D version recorded 21.92 per cent occupancy across the reported screenings.
Morning shows registered 9.23 per cent occupancy, while afternoon screenings reached 22.15 per cent. Evening shows recorded 23.62 per cent, and night screenings posted the day’s highest occupancy at 32.69 per cent.
After two days, Vibe has earned Rs 5.22 crore gross in India, keeping it ahead of Daayra at the box office.
