Nahas Hidhayath’s action thriller I’m Game, starring Dulquer Salmaan in the lead, hit theatres on Thursday. The film received mixed reviews upon release and has witnessed a decline in box office earnings over the weekend. After its collections dipped on Friday, I’m Game recorded another drop on Saturday.
According to trade tracker Sacnilk, I’m Game earned Rs 4.15 crore nett in India on Saturday. The film recorded 34.4 per cent occupancy across 3,014 shows. Its three-day domestic total now stands at Rs 14.45 crore nett and Rs 16.90 crore gross. With Rs 13.75 crore earned overseas, the film has collected Rs 30.65 crore worldwide in its first three days.
Despite the drop, the film has already surpassed Dulquer’s previous Malayalam release, King of Kotha (2023), which earned Rs 11.50 crore nett in India and Rs 25.18 crore worldwide during its first three days.
I’m Game saw a 15.3 per cent decline in collections on Saturday compared with Friday, when it earned Rs 4.90 crore with 37 per cent occupancy across 3,145 shows. The film had opened with Rs 5.40 crore and recorded 42.8 per cent occupancy across 2,727 shows.
The film has performed strongest in Malayalam compared with its Telugu, Tamil and Hindi versions. On Saturday, the Malayalam version earned Rs 2.65 crore, while the Hindi version brought in just Rs 5 lakh. The Tamil and Telugu versions collected Rs 70 lakh and Rs 75 lakh, respectively. The film will need to show stronger growth or maintain its momentum on Sunday.
I’m Game marks Dulquer Salmaan’s return to Malayalam cinema following the underperformance of King of Kotha. The 2023 film was made on a reported budget of Rs 50 crore but earned only Rs 17.54 crore in India.
