Actors Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan won Rs 25 lakh on the latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 18. The duo appeared on the show alongside director Priyadarshan to promote their upcoming film Haiwaan. They managed to correctly answer the Rs 25 lakh question before their time on the hot seat came to an end. Do you know what the answer was?
The final question they were asked was: “Which of these is a Brazilian performing art form of African origin that incorporates martial arts movements such as kicks and chops?” The choices were Tango, Capoeira, Bushido and Flamenco.
Using the available lifelines, Akshay and Saif chose ‘Capoeira’, which was the correct answer. Soon after, however, the show’s timer sounded, signalling the end of their hot-seat stint.
What is Capoeira?
Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that blends dance, acrobatics and combat movements. Its earliest references can be traced to the 18th century, and the art form is believed to have roots in Angola before developing further in Brazil. By the 20th century, Capoeira had become more widely recognised as a sport, and Brazil officially legalised its practice in 1937.
Saif and Akshay appeared on KBC 18 to promote Haiwaan, which is directed by Priyadarshan. In the film, Saif portrays a visually impaired man, while Akshay plays a criminal. The project marks Saif’s first film with Priyadarshan, while he and Akshay have previously worked together on several projects.
The actors have shared the screen in films such as Main Khiladi Tu Anari, Yeh Dillagi, Aarzoo and Tashan, among others. During the episode, they looked back on their Main Khiladi Tu Anari days and danced to the film’s title track. Saif also amused the audience by playing the tune of Akshay’s song Deedar, with Akshay joining in with the vocals.
