Filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan has responded to comedian Cyrus Broacha after he criticised her cook, Dilip, calling him a “fraud” and saying he was overrated. Farah, who regularly features Dilip in her YouTube vlogs, responded to the remarks with a witty comeback, leading to a light-hearted exchange between the two.
Cyrus recently discussed Dilip during a conversation with actor Shantanu Anam. He admitted that he found Farah’s cook irritating and felt that Dilip had started performing for the camera.
Reacting to a video of their conversation, Farah commented, “Cyrus I can replace him with you.”
Cyrus quickly replied, asking, “Kal se aaun?” (Should I come from tomorrow?)
Their exchange triggered several reactions on social media. While some users expressed interest in seeing Cyrus appear in one of Farah’s vlogs, others maintained that Dilip was irreplaceable.
One user suggested, “Make an episode with him. Let's see what Dilip has to say.”
Another commented, “If Cyrus joins you... everyone will stop watching for sure.”
A third user came to Dilip’s defence, writing, “No Cyrus, you are not eligible. No one can replace Dilip.”
However, some people were unhappy with Farah’s response. One user felt she should have defended her cook, commenting, “Are you mad or what? You should have taken a stand for Dilip.”
What did Cyrus Broacha say about Dilip?
During his conversation with Shantanu Anam, Cyrus openly admitted that he was not fond of Dilip’s appearances in Farah’s videos.
“I don't like that guy. He irritates me. He is like acting all the time now. The first couple of times he was nice; otherwise, he looks like a fraud to me. I think Farah feeds him the lines, and then he says whatever he wants. Sometimes I feel his heart is not in it. He is overrated,” he said.
Shantanu, however, defended Dilip and argued that his popularity was justified.
“You are the only person in the world who doesn't like Dilip. Dilip is lovable and sweet,” he told Cyrus.
How Farah Khan’s cook Dilip became an internet favourite
Dilip has become a familiar face on social media through his appearances in Farah Khan’s YouTube vlogs. What initially began as cooking videos featuring Farah visiting celebrity homes gradually evolved into a blend of food, celebrity conversations and humorous interactions between the filmmaker and her cook.
Dilip’s candid comments, comic timing and comfortable rapport with Farah have made him popular among viewers. His reactions to celebrity guests frequently become talking points, with many people tuning in for his banter with Farah as much as for the celebrity appearances.
His growing popularity even earned him an opportunity to feature in an advertisement alongside Shah Rukh Khan.
Farah has also spoken about how the success of their videos has benefited Dilip financially. In November 2025, she revealed that she had used a year’s earnings from YouTube to help him clear a substantial debt and support his son’s culinary education. The earnings also helped Dilip build a house in his hometown.
