A young person asks that a group leave Ganga Ghat in Haridwar: Muslims not allowed

A video that purportedly depicts a youth attempting to eject a group of men and women from the Maharaja Agrasen Ghat in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, because they are members of a particular community has gone popular on social media. The cops stated that they are looking into the video clip.

According to a top official on Monday, Circle Officer Juhi Manral requested the police to look into the incident because the video contains religious feelings and is sensitive to some communities.

Responses to the video, which was extensively disseminated on social media, included some that defended the conduct and others that criticized the bias against one particular religion.

In the video, a guy is seen requesting that a woman and another person leave the ghat and directing them to the riverbank's gate.

The man shouts, "Bahar, gate k bahar," insisting that no one from another neighborhood is allowed to enter the area. Only "Hindus are allowed to visit the Ganga Ghats," the man is heard addressing the opposing group.

The Maharaja Agrasen Ghat, which is part of Jwalapur Kotwali, does not have the same restrictions on movement as the Har Ki Pauri area, according to Satpal Brahmachari, a former chairman of the then-Haridwar Municipality.
