Karnataka minister stated that the Centre hacked the Gruha Jyothi registration system

According to Karnataka Public Works Department Minister Satish Jarkiholi, the BJP-led government at the Centre has hacked the specially created Gruha Jyothi scheme enrollment page on the Seva Sindhu portal, the state's citizen service website, to ensure the plan's failure. Following reports of website issues, the minister made his comments.

"There will inevitably be mistakes and teething problems. We'll process applications manually if the servers are down. We had everything planned, but the Union government has hacked into our computers," Jarkiholi claimed.

Over 55,000 users registered on the web on the first day of the Gruha Jyothi initiative, which offers up to 200 units of free energy to all residential households in Karnataka, according to a formal government announcement on Sunday.

"Registration for the program is completed on the Seva Sindhu site through a unique, personalized page. The registration process has been made very easy by the E-governance department. The customer's customer ID, Aadhar number, and cellphone number must be entered," it stated.

At the state's Karnataka One, Grama One, and Bengaluru One location, registration began at the same time.

"The consumers responded favorably to the promotion. Despite the fact that it was Sunday, representatives of all ESCOMs were on the ground supervising the registration process and ensuring sure it went smoothly, according to the statement.

The Energy Department has stated that users can register for the "Gruha Jyothi" program using their mobile phones and laptops without the requirement for any paperwork or records.

One of the electoral promises made by the Congress prior to the 2023 state assembly election was free power up to 200 units.

Siddaramaiah, who announced the program, made it clear that renters would also be eligible for its benefits in addition to homeowners.
