Narcotics worth Rs. 160 crore were taken from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in Maharashtra


The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) conducted an operation in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, during which narcotic drugs with an estimated value of approximately Rs 160 crore were seized.

This action by the agency took place within the context of an ongoing investigation related to another case in which drugs worth over Rs 250 crore were confiscated from the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district the previous week. The joint operation was carried out by the Ahmedabad Crime Branch and the Ahmedabad unit of the DRI.

Following a tip-off, a team from the DRI conducted a raid at two facilities operated by a private organization known as Apex Medichem Private Limited. This operation resulted in the confiscation of 107 liters of liquid Mephedrone, a type of narcotic drug. The market value of this seized substance is estimated to be around Rs 160 crore, in accordance with the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act of 1985.

During the course of the raid, the DRI arrested two individuals, namely the owner of the factory and the manager of the warehouse.
