In the Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka, a distressing incident unfolded on Monday night when a man, reportedly inebriated, perpetrated a violent attack on his wife, resulting in critical injuries as he allegedly bit off her eyes and cheeks. The couple, residents of the Belthangady area, became embroiled in a heated altercation that escalated into a brutal assault by the husband.
The assailant, identified as 55-year-old Suresh, reportedly used both his hands and a helmet to attack his wife, inflicting severe bleeding injuries on her face. According to Ryshyanth, the Superintendent of Police in Dakshina Kannada, Suresh also assaulted their daughter when she attempted to intervene and protect her mother. Fearing for her safety, the traumatized daughter fled the residence.
The victim, found unconscious on Tuesday morning, has been admitted to a hospital, where she is receiving medical treatment along with her daughter. In response to this horrific incident, law enforcement has taken action by registering a case against Suresh. The charges filed include punishment for voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means (IPC 323, 324, 326), intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of the peace (IPC 504), and criminal intimidation (IPC 506). The legal proceedings aim to hold the perpetrator accountable for the grievous harm inflicted on his wife and daughter during the disturbing altercation.
