Congress leader Supriya Shrinate playfully mocked senior BJP leader and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for sharing a photo with a large crowd of women supporters, humorously referencing the popular line from the drama series 'Panchayat', saying, "Dekh raha hai Binod," which is known for inspiring various memes.
In the series 'Panchayat', the dialogue signifies a person drawing attention to ongoing events with a mischievous undertone. Shrinate posted the comment on X in response to Chouhan's photo captioned as "My family."
Shivraj Singh Chouhan stepped down as Chief Minister on December 11, with first-time MLA Mohan Yadav selected as his successor by the BJP. Despite expressing contentment with the decision, Chouhan's social media activities, including a change of bio, videos, and posts, attracted considerable attention.
Chouhan shared a photo on Thursday showcasing his popularity, particularly among women voters, despite the party choosing a novice over the seasoned leader. Hours before this post, he had shared a video on X, depicting him driving a tractor and reconnecting with his agricultural roots. Supriya Shrinate, in response, seemed to allude to conflicting agendas between Shivraj Chouhan and the BJP's top leadership.
Earlier, Sanjay Raut, an aide to Uddhav Thackeray, had also suggested that central leadership decisions influenced the selection of chief ministers in states like Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, surprising even local BJP leaders.
