Indian-born Report: Sikh lady detained in Canada on suspicion of murder charges


According to reports, a 28-year-old woman of Indian origin named Pretty Teena Kaur Panesar faces charges of first-degree murder in connection to the demise of another woman, who shares a familial tie, in British Columbia, Canada.

The arrest of Preety Teena Kaur Panesar occurred on December 19, following the discovery of the victim's body by authorities in the Delta County of British Columbia. As per CTV News Vancouver, the Delta police department confirmed the charge of first-degree murder against her.

Initially, law enforcement characterized the situation as "suspicious." However, subsequent investigations led them to definitively conclude that the deceased had fallen victim to a homicide.

Details regarding the victim's identity, age, or specific background were not disclosed publicly by the Delta police, except for acknowledging a familial association between the victim and the accused.

Furthermore, the authorities stated their decision to withhold further information about both the suspect and the victim, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation and the legal procedures.
