During an interview with India Today TV, the wife and daughter of the late Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP and actor Tapas Pal expressed their disappointment with the TMC's reaction to Pal's demise.
Nandini Pal, the wife, and Sohini Pal, the daughter, conveyed their frustration, revealing instances of unfulfilled promises and lack of support from the TMC leadership, including Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, following Tapas Pal's death. Despite assurances of financial assistance, Nandini Pal disclosed that the promises made by Mamata Banerjee were not honored, leading to her breaking her fixed deposit to pay for Tapas Pal's bail.
Nandini Pal recounted, "Didi (Mamata Banerjee) told me that Moloy Ghatak had sorted everything out. Despite repeated calls from Partha Chatterjee and Moloy Ghatak, there was no response. Moloy Ghatak eventually answered at night but offered no help."
Sohini Pal raised allegations against Bengal Minister Aroop Biswas, claiming that despite initial assurances of support in front of the camera, he later blocked their phone number. The lack of response from Mamata Banerjee after Tapas Pal's death was also highlighted.
Expressing their discontent, Sohini remarked, "Although there was a team on Mahua Moitra's side, no one was seen on Tapas' side."
The TMC leadership's recent support for Mahua Moitra amid her expulsion as a Lok Sabha MP was juxtaposed with the perceived absence of support for Tapas Pal, raising concerns about differential treatment within the party.
