48 Agniveer Vayu ladies will take part in the Republic Day Parade for the first time

As a demonstration of its commitment to 'Nari Shakti' (women's power), the Indian Air Force has made the noteworthy decision to incorporate 48 Agniveer Vayu Women into its Republic Day contingent, according to information provided by officials to India Today TV on Friday.

The marching contingent of the Indian Air Force will be under the leadership of Squadron Leader Rashmi Thakur and will include Squadron Leader Sumita Yadav, Squadron Leader Pratiti Ahluwalia, and Flight Lieutenant Kirti Rohil as supernumerary officers.

In a further display of women empowerment, 15 women pilots from the Indian Air Force will actively operate various aircraft during the flypast segment of the Republic Day parade.

The chosen theme for the Indian Air Force's Republic Day tableau this year is "Bharatiya Vayu Sena: Saksham, Sashakt, Atmanirbhar."

The aerial exhibition during this year's Republic Day festivities will showcase India's military prowess, featuring a lineup of 29 fighter aircraft, eight transport aircraft, 13 helicopters, and one heritage aircraft soaring above the Kartavya Path.

A significant highlight of the flypast will be the inaugural participation of the recently inducted C-295 transport aircraft in the Republic Day parade.

Additionally, the Indian Air Force plans to commemorate the historic 'Tangail airdrop' during the 1971 victory over Pakistan, with one Dakota aircraft and two Dorniers executing a 'Tangail formation' during the celebratory event.

Making its debut at the Republic Day parade, the indigenously developed Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas will be featured in a 'Tejas formation' with four jets taking to the skies.

Adding to the spectacle, six Rafale fighter jets will perform a 'Vajraang formation' as part of this year's Republic Day parade.
