An ex-Sena (UBT) councillor was fired at in Gondia, Maharashtra

In the city of Gondia, Maharashtra, a former Shiv Sena (UBT) councilor named Lokesh, also known as Kallu Yadav, sustained injuries when two assailants on motorcycles shot at him on Thursday, as reported by the police.

The incident unfolded while Lokesh was standing outside his office near Hemu Kalani Chowk in the Sindhi Colony area. Following the attack, he was promptly hospitalized for the injuries sustained during the gunfire.

The Superintendent of Police, Nikhil Pingale, provided details of the incident, stating that around 11:15 am, two unidentified assailants on motorcycles fired at Yadav, resulting in a bullet injury to his lower back. After receiving initial medical attention at a government hospital in Gondia, he was subsequently referred to a medical facility in Nagpur. Fortunately, his condition is reported to be stable.

The assailants swiftly fled the scene after carrying out the attack. Superintendent Pingale assured that the police are actively investigating all possible angles, expressing confidence in the apprehension of the culprits.

Given that the term of the general body of the Gondia Municipal Council has concluded, the administration of the council is presently overseen by an administrator rather than elected representatives.

Notably, both Yadav and his brother Pankaj maintain affiliations with the Shiv Sena (UBT).
