An official from Madhya Pradesh was suspended after two guys beat him for passing his car

In an unfortunate incident in Umaria district, Madhya Pradesh, a Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) named Amit Singh has been suspended following allegations of assault against two men, Shivam Yadav and Prakash Dahiya. The incident reportedly occurred when the victims overtook the official's car on the road. The police were alerted to an ongoing altercation and discovered a severely damaged Ertiga car upon arrival at the scene.

The victims, Shivam Yadav and Prakash Dahiya were found injured and were promptly taken to the hospital by the police. According to Prakash Dahiya's account to the police, they were traveling from Khairi to Bharoula when they encountered the SDM's vehicle on the road. An altercation ensued when Shivam Yadav did not give way to the SDM's car, leading to a pursuit.

The SDM's vehicle, along with Tehsildar Vinod Kumar's vehicle, allegedly blocked the victims' path, forcing them to stop. SDM Amit Singh, Tehsildar Vinod Kumar, and their drivers purportedly pulled the victims out of their vehicle and initiated a brutal assault using sticks.

A video recording of the incident has surfaced, depicting a man striking another with a stick. Based on the medical reports and statements of the victims, the police registered a case against SDM Amit Singh, Tehsildar Vinod Kumar, and two others under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The police have launched an investigation into the matter.

District Collector Buddhesh Kumar Vaidya has taken immediate action by suspending SDM Amit Singh from his position. Further disciplinary measures and legal actions will be determined based on the findings of the ongoing police inquiry. The incident raises concerns about the misuse of power and the need for accountability in public service.
